Oh thank god, finally i found solution my self !!! It may help you also download and install it in your x8 >http://uploading.com/files/b6bbbbdb/HTC_IME_lo.apk/
Possibly being a bit dense here, but I can't open a .rar file. How do you do it?
I love the HTC_IME keyboard on my big X10 but was told that it wasn't available for the mini's or X8.
download winrar or 7zip... easy
OK so my brain isn't firing on all cylinders this morning, bit full of painkillers - bad back! So can you give me a step by step... got the HTC file in my bluetooth exchange file so I can send it off to my phone when I've done whatever it is I need to do. Downloaded Winrar, but what do I do with the HTC file. I have tried adding it to winrar but that's not working. It's probably really obvious (well to everyone but me!) so any help for this befuddled old gal would be gratefully recieved.

download it to pc copy to your micro sd card
now go to application installer from menu> here you can browse HTC_IME_lo.apk > install it
now go to setting> locale& text > mark HTC_IME mod > then HTC_IME mod >Keyboard types > mark phone keypad
Thats it done....
note > you should mark unknown sources which is in Settings>Apllications
I knew the painkillers where befuddling me! Hadn't noticed the option to extract files, it's always soooo easy when you know how (or have a very helpful person tell you how to do it!)
And..... it works. My phone is now complete! It has been the only thing missing from my X8 that my X10 had (well apart from a couple of apps that didn't really matter. Thank you guys. I love forums and the knowledge sharing!!!
All I need now is for the osteopath to sort my back out and my day will be perfect. Time for the painkillers again:smileywink:
Hi there again, sorry to be a pain in the rear. The link no longer works for rapid share. Is there any where else that I can get the link, got some people interested over on Android Forums for their X8's. I don't know anything about file sharing and stuff so tell me slowly and clearly in little steps. Thanks!
now go to application installer from menu> here you can browse HTC_IME_lo.apk > install it
now go to setting> locale& text > mark HTC_IME mod > then HTC_IME mod >Keyboard types > mark phone keypad
Thats it, done....

Hm, how do you switch the keyboard? I've followed all your instruction and my X8 still use the "default input" keyboard. I even can't change it to TP keyboard.
