Hmm,
on the newest 0.417 I am experiencing apps to hang completely and crash/restart.
Mostly it happens for Toutube in my case, I reported to Google but not sure if it is caused by them as periodically it happens for other apps too. Scrolling is rather smooth in case of using Sony UI and not that great in 3rd party apps like facebook. I also notice a very small lags from time to time like system needs to think 1s before doing what I ordered it to do (open apps etc.).
On the other hand, it is very strange but my battery life has a huge improvement.
Recently I had 7h 17m SOT and still 13% of battery life (Stamina turned on automatically when it was 15% of battery). To be honest I do not put the brightness of my screen to max, I usually keep it below 50% with Automatic brightness turned on. But I am using this screen setting always like that. For this result I was using a lot of WiFi, Internet browsing using Chrome, sometimes GPS and music by bluetooth. I do not know what happened to my phone but SOT is now much better for me than it was which is great 
Before I was getting abour 4,5h - 5,5h SOT time. Rarely 6h. Now it is about or even over 7 hours
And yes, battery drain is higher when Idle, it is now second process on the list of power consumtion just after the screen. I hope Sony will resolve these issues without affecting great battery life.
Would be nice to have better app management, I know the issue - 3GB of RAM

Yes we knew the XZ was underspecced on RAM and now 6 months after launch even midrange phones come with 4GB. Nougat needs 4GB.
same issue on Z3+
before upgrade, my phone just only have camera app closing by overheat issue. apps crashing is just a few in a month.
after upgrade to nougat. not only cemera is closing, YouTube is closing by overheat too(Thanks, SONY! 
). EVERY apps are crashing everyday, 3-5 times per day. sometime it froze and blackout, I can't do anything with my phone, just doing force restart.
maybe it's SONY fault or Nougat fault
YouTube app was force to close by overheating issue.
