I have a PCG-TR2MP and have just installed The Sims Deluxe. However when I try to run the game it goes through all the intro then crashes. The Sims manual mentioned something about a video card or chipset update. Is this what is wrong and if so who is the manufacturer of the video card? I know the chipset is Intel.
Does anyone have any other ideas why the game isn't working?
Please help I am going nuts over this.!!!:smileycry:
Not really.:smileysad:
But the Simsworld in which I live is really enough.:smileywhistling:
Might well be old graphics card drivers. Sony unfortunately rarely if ever update their graphics card drivers, which means that people often have trouble running new games.
You can try looking in the downloads section of http://www.vaio-link.com/ for recent drivers, but I suspect they will be as old as everyone elses. So, third party drivers (unsupported by Sony, unsupported by the providers of the driver) will probably have to be used instead. You can get them from http://www.omegadrivers.net and just follow the instructions.
Please be aware that these drivers have been known to cause problems in rare cases, so backup important stuff and don't install them unless you are OK with things getting a bit dodgy.
If you aren't........well then you can have no recent graphics card drivers I'm afraid. That is Sony for you.
If it is The Sims (original) it should work, I used to run it on my Toshiba and it only had 8MB
