Endless 'updates'.

Why does my HXD995 HDD recorder show 'UPDATE' so frequently and for so long? It has been doing this for a couple of hours at least this evening [1st Dec 2012]. It usually shows the 'UPDATE' message at 10.00 and 14.00 daily, but recently it has been doing it more often. What exactly is being updated?

Update message is related to looking up for DVB-T new channels. It's a knowkn bug of these recorders, just check if you have the latest fw (1.24) and than apply a reset (push stop and poweroff on the console together, unplug from power afor oneminute and than follow the easy setup procedure). It will work for some times, if it happens again, just redot it.

You'are welcome. Other than this problem, I very satisfied with mine RDR HXD870 that unfortunately is becoming old...

Be aware that another symptom of the bug is that sometimes it refuses to remember newly found channels. If t happens, just apply the same procedure.
