I was told my TV came with a 5 year warranty!
The Sony sales rep and the Manager in the shop that sold me the TV I purchased, a KD-55X9005A, both told me that the TV came with a 5 year warranty. When I registered my product just now, it says I have a one year warranty, but that I can buy a 5 year plan.
Please tell me what gives here?

I believe replacements are only for when a TV is non-repairable or if the repair time is too long and inconvenient.
Looks like you had a bad time with your TV though, could you tell us the model number? Maybe we can help.

- From the PowerCity site. It says 5 year Guarantee, no need to register. This influenced my choice of supplier in the end. I take it I just go back to PowerCity if anything goes pear shaped in the next 5 years?
