Can I delete a part of disk, what Im not using

Hi I bought Sony Vaio Notebook VGN-A215M, and the size of my Hard drive is 60 Gb, but I can use only like 52 Gb, can I delete this partition? The size of this partition is 7GB and I can't use it why ? Is there a recovery files or something ? I have a recovery DVD so can I delete this partition?

Yes the extra space used is used by a recovery partition.

The only way you can delete it is by using those disks you made to do a full advanced recovery

I'm using software PartitionMagic 8.0, there is a way how to delete this partition, can I do that by that way ? And resize next partition up to ?

You probably can, but there's a high risk you might loose data
