Replacement motherboard VGN A417S

I hope someone can point me in the right direction. I'm in the USA right now (not returning to London for another 6 months) and my VGN-A417s has died on me. I know it's the motherboard and would like to have it replaced. Sony US have been unable to help me (as European model). Does anyone know where I could either get a replacement motherboard or where I can send my laptop to to be replaced? I do have the extended 3 year warranty (purchased 06/2005). This happened back in March have since switched to HP notebooks.

Sony will only repair under warranty in one of their own repair centres. I would contact Sony Europe to discuss the way forward.

I will have it repaired once I get back to London. It just irks me that I can't have it done in the US
