UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Hi all,

I have a hard time here with my RX-306 which is mounted for dual boot: XP and mandrake (as of last week mandriva).

When I boot under XP I get a blue screen stating: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Has anyone got experience with that error?

Under mandrake it is fixing errors it seems and I got so far as to log in as root again on the command line.

Waiting for some feedback now before proceeding.

Tnx

Ugh. That's the last thing I saw before my computer went to the Vaio Hospital :slight_frown:

Yeah. In my case the part of the HD containting the Metadata or something equally important had failed, but it's more likely that XP has become unrecoverably corrupted and requires a reinstallation. There may well be a way around it if you look around the net for a solution, but with the recovery process being what it is, there isn't much room for improvisation.

I know, the advanced user is disabled by Sony's choice.
