Vista install with no trial apps?

Hi All,

I have been trying to reinstall Vista without all the extra baggage that comes with a Vaio - basically all i want in Vista and no trial apps etc.

I have followed instruction on this sticky thread here...

... but they must be refering to XP because I dont get the VARU.exe in MSCONFIG.

Can anyone tell me how to do this with Vista? I've had my laptop for 3 weeks now and have been unable to use it because I want to get this sorted before i start tranferring stuff onto it I'm beginning to get pretty annoyed by it all!

Are you getting prompted to complete the Application Recovery every time you boot?

The only reason for disabling Varu.exe is to stop this prompt - so if you aren't getting the prompt, forget it.

If you are getting this prompt then come back and we can try another solution.
