well answers please? and why?
For me no because i do not trust their quality checks, i think they try and rush out the latest fashion craze and then get on with designing the next.
Their driver downloads/documentation are dismal to say the least
What has annoyed me most about Sony is their attitude to dead pixels. In both Sony notebooks I've owned, there has been either dead pixels or discolouration in the screen, and Sony doesn't want to know. In the Toshiba laptop I had, there were no such problems, it was just the weight and the fact that the casing scratched so easily made me exchange it for my second VAIO.
They're not the only ones to have bad attitudes when it comes to dead pixels, If you read PC Plus last month you'll see a lot of other companies are just as bad.
Heh, gone > 1500 posts
I refer to your post in another thread in this forum about doing other things...
???
Yeah, we complain about sony, but i for one havent seriously taken a look at other companies' feedback ratings on customer service.
Maybe this is the average, although poor, especially considering the price we pay for these machines
Yeah, I've been doing other stuff today, so nice one Barney
Alternatively if not on the download page, it should be on the last CD of the recovery set.
That post-don't worry about it, the joke has wilted.

I've heard that Toshiba and Evesham service is second to none. The trouble is, who would want to buy an Evesham laptop?
So far, I think I would buy one again..
But then I've only had it about a month, so not much time to go wrong!
I have to say it's a million miles ahead of my old Compaq Presario in terms of build quality (the keyboard on the Presario died after a fortnight!), but doesn't feel as sturdy as my old Armada M300 (the mag alloy one that was superslim).
I think if I was doing it again, it'd be a choice between the VX71P (what I have now) because of it's looks and memorystick port, and the new Compaq Armada M-series, because they have the optional Bluetooth module in the lid, and a very nice docking station.
However, there's some £800 between them in price, so..
I'd still quite like one of the 16" Vaio's, though..
wireless networking would be nice too
Rather than Bluetooth, as it's not as good as wireless standard.
