Hi,
Appologies if this has already come up, i tried searching, but came up with nothing.
when i move my pictures to my laptop occasionally (around 1 in a 100) my pictures will have a file size of 680mb. i have to edit the picture in in paint then resave it to make it a correct size.
any ideas why, or anyone have a solution
TIA
try opening image in another os type maybe pc failed to state size right so it says it's a GB size when it's actually 1,21MB. If 1,21GB appears in another windows like windows 7 or windows xp or so then it's a issue with your phone
if the size looks normal on other OS then it's only your windows 8 having a known bug in the system causing it to randomly say GB on some files when it's not GB size
if you cant see what the second picture shows then you definitely are stupid. it shows the picture in question selected as you asked for, it is the only picture selected and clearly shows a file size of 1.21GB at the bottom. the second picture is a screenshot of the full screen from which the first picture was taken.
just because you dont know the answer or understand the problem, doesnt mean im a troll 'super user'
9 items 1 selected!!!!! if you are going to zoom, it might help to actually read what is on screen properly
where it says 9 items does not mean it's selected it means 9 items is in this folder.
I hope we can help you further - please take your phone (and use a trailer for that big file) to a service center for evaluation - choose one with heavy lifting equipment
Thanks, i was wondering if this was a problem with windows 8. only problem is i cut and paste the pics so they are no longer on my phone, and im guessing once windows assigns a filesize its there for good until the image is modified. next time i rip the photos from my phone i will use copy and paste instead and then try it again on my partners windows 7 laptop and see what happens.
i will post the results either way incase someone else has this problem
I dont see the issue, are you certain is not one of the pictures that you edit with paint? right click on the picture and show all the properties (post the screenshot) do the same on your computer and on your phone .
hi,
no the filesize is like that before i edit in paint. as soon as i take them from my phone that is the size they are. once i edit and save them in paint the save as a regular size. i cant screenshot the properties on my phone as i have mentioned i use cut and paste to take them from the phone to the computer.
im pretty sure that when they are on the phone they have a regular filesize as i always have plenty of space on the device. the last load i took off show a combined size of over 6gb yet my phone space available hardly changed afterwards.
I have added the screen shot of the properties box.
Thank you for the help and support unlike the 'IT Expert' above who doesnt understand the display of a windows file window or the difference between mouse over and selection.
right click on file from your phone device and pick properties and it should give you size of image file even it's on your phone
why not show one file and it's properties - your screen shots are confusing, we are trying to help
