Mic problem returned after update 6.0.1

I had problem with mic - people couldn't hear me, because my voice was very quiet. Then I switched off mic noise suppression and everything was fine. Until update to 6.0.1. Now I have the same problem. And I can't switch off mic noise suppression, because this option is simply missed.

Any ideas how to fix this now? Or I should downgrade to previous android version?

UPD: may,19. Sony market topic as solved. But it isn't really solved at the moment. They will roll out an update in "upcoming weeks". And because we still have the same problem, I unmarked topic as solved. As soon as we will have the noise suppression option back and this will really help us - then I will return the solved mark.

UPD 2: In. 575 version the noise suppression function is back. People can hear me again. Thanks, Sony

The the fault does not seem to lie in the physical microphone, as VoIP calls (Messenger, Whatsapp) work fine, as do diifferent recording apps. Only the "traditional" mobile calls are affected. At least that's the way with my device.

Yes, same as me! I was hopping the 6.0.1 update would fix the issue but I´m hasn´t came yet for me (unlocked D6503 Z2)...

But my hoppes are fading away, after seeing these comments

Would everyone please contact support?  Sony obviously doesn't read these pages.  This appears to be a firmware issue and it would be a drag to have to send in our devices over it.

I have contacted Sony support via email, but no response yet. I think each person having the problem should contact Sony individually. Make some noise.

Same situation for me. Using a voip app, I left myself voicemail whispering and understood every bit of it. But with the phone on this z3 compact, now no one can understand anything I say.

My D6502 microphone do not work well after updating to Marshmallow. It's too noize to speak clearly on call, another one can not hear my voice.
How need I do now?
Thanks and regards

Hi @princetoad1985,

Welcome to the community.

Can you please test the microphone in Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Microphone and see if it's working OK there?

Can you also please run the same test in safe mode?

Got my response from Sony support, and as expected, it's utterly useless:

"Thank you for contacting Sony Xperia Support.
We advise you to contact you local reseller and send the unit to service, in order to fix you sound issues in calls"

Sony has the worst tech support in recorded history. I'm done. Goodbye Sony.

At least on z3c the microphone test only records primary mic and there is no option to record secondary mic as far as I can see.

is the issue universal on different models (being this is a Z2 issue on Z3C thread)?

It's at least a Z3C issue. Dunno about other models.
