Why is Sony not giving any information about issues with Vista on our notebooks ? Why is there no place (a special forum?) to tell us what to do or what to expect ?
I have installed Vista home premium on my Vaio VGN FE11M and have several problems, even if the vista upgrade adviser said it would be ok. It works ok in general (aero is fine) :
- problem with the bluettoth device driver (I found a solution on the web)
- impossible to run "sony vaio update" anymore
- impossible to find settings for brightness, contrast, or refreshment rate set to 60HZ and can not be changed,
- impossible to set sony vaio power management, not working anymore...
Thank you.
When will we get the right drivers for the nVidia GeForce Go 7400 ? With the right refresh rate (now it's only 60Hz) and so on ?
Anybody an idea ?
I don't agree with you : if most of people do not see the difference, I do and have instant headacke when the rate is too low. 70 or 75(better) is the best setting and as a matter of fact, it is even what you can learn in Vista's HELP ("75 is the best setting for your tft screen"), and it is used on almost all flat monitors. 60 is too low.
As a result, they are many people complaining about the qualitiy of display in Vista, a lack of sharpness for letters, and no real possiblity for adjusting brigtness contrast etc. and I am sure this is one of the reasons.
Besides, my monitor supports rates to 75, so I don't see why Vista should not allow me to use its settings.
a bientot !
