Connected, no internet

Hi, I've had my Android TV now for about 3 months and never had any connection issues. However, yesterday the power went off and when it came back on we had no issues with any other deviced in the house, all connected and carried on working fine. The TV came back on and appeared to connect back to the WIFI, but when I tried YouTube - no connection. I tried various other apps, and only Netflix works; and works fine as I watched a movie to test it.

I have tried another router, and again everything else works but the TV is the same, only Netflix works. I have disconnected, reconnected, connected with manual password, connected via WPS still the same. I saw a post that suggested WIFI direct causes an issue, but mine is not on. In fact, I put it on, tried it, then off and tried again and it made no difference.

I went into the 'initial setup' for the TV and started again, but still the same. I have been into the network settings and tried setting it as IPV6 but that doesn't work. So, any help would be appreciated.

Thank you so much, you don’t realise how close I was to going and buying a new TV, I’ve changed my Broadband provider and I would never of thought that it was something as simple as changing the time. You’re a life saver

OMG this is so brilliant. Come to think of I never thought of checking time. I called my network provider twice but they couldn’t help me out. Thank you so much.

Your simple solution worked perfectly. My TV's time was out by 4hrs for some reason, selected network time as suggested now everything working as it should, thanks a lot.

Thank you. this would have taken me months to figure out. I don't think I've ever even realised the TV had a date and time set up. It fixed all my issues instantly.  Much appreciated.

I cannot thank you enough for posting this solution. I literally just signed up solely so I could say thank you!

Experiencing the same issue not having a coax-cable/TV-broadcast_subscription, ever since a communal power loss on 31 July 2020: I can't change the "Automatic date & time" setting (fixed to " Use broadcast time"), as this setting is grayed out on a Sony KD-43XD8305 (latest firmware: PKG6.6555.0257EUA), running Google Android TV (BRAVIA_ATV2_EU-user 8.0.0 OPR2.170623.027.S32 665551 release-keys) located in the Netherlands. (This disables me to also fix the "connected, no internet" issue, according to this Dutch article.) Found a workaround (option 4) in this post, which may need to be applied after EVERY (power failure) reboot. 😞 I will test this, as soon as I have a USB-A male to USB-A male cable.

Have you tried resetting the TV to factory settings and then trying the Use Network Time setting?

Thank you very much- just reset the time as you did and its working again 😃

Changing date and time from broadcast to network solved this for me too. Netflix would work but nothing else, now it's sorted! Thankyou so much for this solution!!
